400 million liters of water 💧 consumed daily by Odesa residents in the heat 🌞

This year`s scorching summer has led to a nearly 30% increase in water consumption by Odesa residents, reaching 400 million liters per day. The significant strain on the networks and abnormal temperature regimes negatively impact the equipment and pipelines, increasing the number of damages. As the thermometer almost daily sets new historical records, the number of accidents has tripled. Every day, emergency teams from "Infoksvodokanal" repair about a hundred accidents. Many residents of the central part of the city recently experienced firsthand how difficult it is to be without water in the heat.

Currently, ensuring the work of emergency crews is becoming increasingly difficult as the cost of electricity, consumables, and fuel continues to rise, while water supply tariffs remain unchanged. Several water utilities in Ukraine, particularly in the Kyiv and Sumy regions, have already switched to scheduled water supply. "Infoksvodokanal" is not considering this possibility yet, as it hopes for the conscientiousness of consumers who owe the company half a billion hryvnias.

Today, it is more important than ever to value water and remember the cost of its supply. Purifying and supplying water, promptly repairing damages, and not implementing water supply schedules are all possible primarily thanks to timely payments from consumers. Therefore, whether there will be water in our homes depends on each of us.
